You know that technology continues to evolve and data sizes grow exponentially. But do you know how to engage in the latest Forensic Technology and eDiscovery solutions? We help you keep abreast of these changes and ensure that you are delivering the best possible service to your customers and other stakeholders.
Partner with Incident Response Solutions
We are a New Zealand business with our head office based in Shortland Street Auckland. We specialise in providing forensic technology and eDiscovery services. Our experts are experienced in working on complex legal and regulatory matters in New Zealand, and will assist you in fulfilling your obligations under the High Court Rules. In particular, we excel at providing tailored discovery solutions.
Incident Response Solutions forensic technology experts assist in all aspects of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) including the collection, processing, cloud hosting, technology assisted review and production of data, all to a forensic standard.
We offer a range of litigation support solutions, including Nuix, Reveal, Relativity, Canopy and Magnet. We can also assist you in uploading data to all other major eDiscovery products, such as EDT, Summation, Concordance and more.
We strive to provide exceptional consulting expertise and to deliver quality electronic discovery services. We specialise in offering advanced Technology Assisted Review (TAR) solutions, including Continuous Active Learning (CAL) via Reveal and RelativityOne.
By using these leading tools, we can offer industry-leading visual analytics and customisable AI models. Even your most challenging datasets can quickly be understood, identifying key players, concepts and context in ways more traditional tools simply cannot.
Collection
As forensic technology experts, we understand the complexities of modern data sources. We conduct targeted collections of both physical devices (e.g. servers, desktops, laptops, mobile devices, removable media etc), and network or cloud data (e.g. Microsoft 365, GSuite, Dropbox plus a wide range of other sources). Our collection procedures are of forensic standard, so you can rely on it in court.
Processing
We use leading eDiscovery tools such as Nuix Workstation to process the collected data. Nuix Workstation delivers a consistent, repeatable, and forensically defensible process across each item and data source.
Early Case Assessment
In accordance with the High Court Discovery Rules, we will provide actionable insights into your processed data through dashboards and reports. Using TAR, we then assist you in locating your responsive dataset in an efficient manner, which in turn is then presented to your reviewers.
Review
We offer several leading eDiscovery and forensic review tools, all available via a cloud hosted solution.
Cloud platforms provide your reviewers with a flexible ‘anywhere anytime’ solution, requiring only a laptop and internet connection. Mandatory two factor authentication provides additional security to protect your client’s data.
Reveal and RelativityOne offer the latest Continuous Active Learning (CAL) functionality to maximise review efficiency. CAL algorithms reduce your total time to review by constantly refining their predictions of every document’s relevancy based on the relevancy decisions being made by your reviewers. Research from a 2014 peer-reviewed study found these savings to be significant.
Analytics
Take advantage of modern technology to gain insights into your data, using analytical features such as email threading, document categorisation, concept searching and more.

eDiscovery FAQs
What is eDiscovery?
eDiscovery (electronic discovery) is the process of identifying, preserving, collecting, processing, reviewing and producing electronically stored information (ESI) — emails, documents, chats and cloud data — for litigation, investigations and regulatory matters. In New Zealand it is governed by the High Court Rules.
What is the EDRM?
The Electronic Discovery Reference Model is the industry-standard nine-stage framework for eDiscovery: information governance, identification, preservation, collection, processing, review, analysis, production and presentation. We support clients across every stage.
What is Technology Assisted Review (TAR)?
Technology Assisted Review uses machine learning, guided by expert reviewer decisions, to classify and prioritise documents for relevance or privilege — cutting the time and cost of large reviews by focusing human effort on the documents most likely to matter.
What is Continuous Active Learning (CAL)?
Continuous Active Learning is a modern form of TAR where the model retrains continuously as reviewers code documents, constantly re-prioritising so the most relevant documents are reviewed first. A 2014 peer-reviewed study found CAL outperformed earlier TAR protocols.
Which eDiscovery platforms do you use?
We work across the leading platforms — Reveal, RelativityOne, Nuix Discover, Canopy and Magnet Review — and can load data into tools such as EDT, Summation and Concordance, selecting the right one for each matter.
Is cloud-hosted document review secure?
Yes — our cloud review enforces mandatory two-factor authentication, encryption in transit and at rest, and compliance with recognised information-security standards, giving reviewers secure ‘anywhere, anytime’ access.
Do you provide expert witness reports?
Yes. Our experts have significant experience preparing expert witness reports and giving evidence, and our collection and processing are done to a forensic standard so results are defensible in court.
Where are you based and do you work across New Zealand?
We are an Auckland-based New Zealand firm (Level 6, 41 Shortland Street) assisting law firms, barristers and government agencies throughout New Zealand. Call 0800 WITNESS (0800 948 637).
